Dan Morrissey | Profile
Dan is Head of William Fry’s Asset Management & Investment Funds Department. He has been a Partner at William Fry since 1981, specialising for 10 years in international mergers and acquisitions. Since establishing the William Fry’s funds business in 1991, he has represented the full range of financial services organisations including custodians/trustees, administration and fund management companies and investment funds. Dan frequently advices on governance and regulatory issues and product development.
Recent significant deals included advising Barclays Global Investors (“BGI”) on the proposed sale by Barclays of its iShares exchange traded fund business to CVC Capital Partners Group.
Dan is a former Chairman of the Irish Funds Industry Association and was a member of its Council from 2000 to 2006. He is a former member of the Advisory Council of the Institutional Money Market Fund Association. Dan has served as a non-executive director of a number of leading fund management platforms in Ireland and is a frequent presenter at international conferences.
Chambers Europe, 2009 recommends Dan as: “a dominant presence on the Irish funds scene for more than 20 years”, while its 2008 publication says of him: “Dan Morrissey is described by clients as “one of top handful of Irish funds lawyers” and “a very well-respected practitioner with good relationships with government and regulatory bodies”.
