Pro Bono

We provide pro bono support to a number of charitable organisations, individuals active in the community and not-for-profit organisations who might otherwise be unable to afford legal advice or to secure State legal aid.  We are committed to our pro bono clients and ensure that all matters are undertaken to the same high standard as our commercial matters.  Beneficiaries of our pro bono programme include:

  • Barrettstown
  • Special Olympics Ireland
  • Kanchi (formerly the Aisling Foundation)
  • National Suicide Bereavement Support Network
  • Bar Council's Voluntary Assistance Scheme
  • Heart Children Ireland

A prominent part of our pro bono programme is our participation in the Public Interest Law Alliance (PILA).

PILA, a project of the Free Legal Advice Centres (FLAC), is a pro bono referral system which matches legal expertise with legal need in the voluntary sector.

William Fry has been one of the first law firms in Ireland to participate actively in PILA. Through the PILA referral system, we provide legal advice and assistance, on a pro bono basis, to a number of voluntary organisations.
