Environment
We recognise that our office, our ways of working, and our purchasing decisions have an environmental impact. We take our responsibilities to the environment, both locally and globally, very seriously and are committed to integrating best environmental practice into all of our business activities in order to minimise our environmental footprint. We strive to:
- Conduct our activities in full knowledge of and in compliance with environmental regulations
- Integrate environmental considerations and objectives into all our business decisions
- Minimise consumption of natural resources and wastage of materials as far as is economically practicable
- Establish environmental awareness and commitment to improved environmental performance amongst our people, our suppliers and our clients
We have recently introduced a number of green initiatives, including:
- The creation of an in-house committee responsible for managing all environmental initiatives
- The provision of refillable coffee mugs to all employees to eliminate the need for single serving cups
- Introduction of a “binless” office policy and a new waste management system which provides for paper, plastic and aluminum recycling, with the ultimate aim of bringing the Firm's landfill waste to less than 30% of total waste
- The use of double sided copying and printing as default on capable printers
- The use of “follow me printing” – software that requires confirmation before printing documents avoiding wasted pages
- The incentivisation of cycling as a mode of transport to work by participation in the government "Bike to Work" scheme and provision of additional bicycle storage facilities
- We recycle our used computers through Camara – a volunteer organisation dedicated to using technology to deliver education more effectively to disadvantaged communities in Africa and Ireland
